National stakeholder conference

The Smokefree England national stakeholder conference was held in central London on 8th February. Caroline Flint Minister of State for Public Health urged businesses to get ready to go smokefree when legislation is introduced at 6am on 1st July 2007.

The conference brought together businesses and organisations from around England to discuss the implementation of smokefree public places and workplaces. Speaking at the conference were representatives from Ireland and Scotland who shared lessons learnt from the implementation of smokefree legislation in their own countries in 2004 and 2006 respectively.
